| Behavioral Health Behavioral health disorders are among the most prevalent forms of disease in the nation. Evidence-based design has demonstrated that clustered housing units, access to natural stimulants, and staff satisfaction and retention are positive influences against these disorders. Despite these findings, public funding, slow reimbursements, and the negative stigma associated with treating the mentally ill have led many institutions’ programs into regression. At Array, we have taken great strides in pushing the envelope of design for behavioral health facilities. We understand that there can be provisions for increased security, long-term acute care, structured activity, isolation and group therapy while still infusing facilities with residential elements, warm colors, and less “institutionalized” themes indicative of modern traditional healthcare facilities.
